An oil field corrosion inhibitor is a chemical compound that is used to prevent or reduce corrosion in oil fields. Corrosion can lead to the formation of scale, which can clog pipelines and other infrastructure, and can also cause equipment failure. Oil field corrosion inhibitors are typically added to produced water (water that is produced along with oil and gas) in order to protect metal surfaces from attack by the water.


Imidazoline:


Imidazoline is a chemical compound, which is soluble in water and ethanol. It has a molecular weight of 172.16 and the structure consists of 1-4 nitrogen atoms bonded together in an aromatic ring with two methyl groups (CH3). The product name comes from its first identified use as an intermediate for the production of nitric acid; it was later found to have anti-corrosive properties.


Quaternary Ammonium salt:


Quaternary ammonium salt is a compound of organic nature which has four nitrogen atoms and one hydrogen atom. It is white in color solid material, usually available as a crystalline powder. Quaternary ammonium compounds are used for the treatment of heavy oil and gas well corrosion problems by forming an anti-corrosive layer on the surface of downhole equipment or pipelines.

The others application segment includes corrosion inhibition in pulp and paper, mining, chemical processing, water treatment and others. The product is widely used in the pulp and paper industry owing to its ability to prevent acid from eating away at the metal parts of machines and equipment.
