Meta-xylene is a chemical compound with the formula CH3C6H4CH3. It is an aromatic hydrocarbon and a derivative of benzene. Meta-xylene is used as an intermediate in the production of plastics and other chemicals.

Sorbex is a polymer with high molecular weight, produced by the reaction of sorbitol and xylene. It has applications in paints & coatings, adhesives & sealants, printing inks and cosmetics. Sorbex acts as an excellent viscosity modifier for these products due to its high molecular weight which increases the suspension properties of pigment particles resulting in smooth coating on finished goods.
UOP:
UOP (Unsaturated Organic Peroxide) is a special type of peroxide. It has the ability to form multiple hydrogen peroxides when exposed to air or oxygen. UOP is manufactured by treating benzene with hydrogen peroxide at high temperature and pressure. The resulting product has higher reactivity than normal hydrogen peroxide and can be used in metathesis reactions for producing specialty chemicals such as meta-xylene, meta-tetrahydrofuran, etc.
