Sand is the byproduct of natural processes. The sand particles are derived from the erosion and subsequent transportation of rock and mineral fragments in a river or on a beach. The vast majority of sands are composed of quartz, although other minerals may be present as well. Sand Screens, Gravel Pack, Frac Pack, Inflow Control Devices and Onshore are some type of sand control solutions that help to stabilize an infrastructure foundation or prevent erosion from occurring around it. It can also prevent water infiltration due to high water tables in areas where there is no drainage system. Through this technique, a filter can be created over the surface that will allow water to pass through but block any larger particles such as sand or gravel from getting into certain areas where they could cause damage. This type of design has been used for centuries but has become more popular recently due to growing climate change concerns. Sand screens, also known as sand filters, are one of the most common ways to control the flow of sand particles that may be entering a building or area. Sand screens are used on construction sites where there is a lot of movement with machinery or heavy equipment. They can also be placed at the end of pipes where they enter into buildings to prevent any small particles from getting in and causing damage in sensitive areas.
