Product Definition:
An automatic circuit recloser (ACR) is a device used to automatically restore power after an interruption. It is important for two reasons: first, it restores power quickly so that customers are not without service for long; and second, it helps prevent damage to the electrical system caused by repeated outages.
Single Phase Recloser:
Single-phase reclosers are used in ACR to reduce the current flow when there is a short circuit or open circuit in an electrical network. Single-phase reclosers have one power phase and two terminals. It works on the principle of electromagnetic induction by breaking and making contact with the conducting path, thereby completing an electric circuit.
Three Phase Recloser:
The three phase recloser is a device used in automatic circuit reclusers to avoid the reverse flow of current in an electric circuit. It consists of three terminals, normally closed contacts and an insulated gate that allows only one path for current to flow at any given time. The main function of this device is to protect the equipment from damage due to short circuits or overloads by breaking the electrical connection between two paths when there is a change in load or input voltage.
