Product Definition:
Sludge Treatment Chemicals are used to treat sludge, which is a waste product of water treatment. Sludge can contain heavy metals and other pollutants that can be harmful if released into the environment. Treatment chemicals help to reduce the amount of pollutants in sludge, making it safer for disposal.
Flocculants:
Flocculants are naturally occurring substances that bind small particles together. There are two types of flocculants, solid and liquid. Flocculation can be caused by the presence of a wide variety of substances such as polyvalent cationic polymer, alkyl phenol ethoxylates, anionic surfactant and others.
Coagulants:
Coagulants are substances that enhance the coagulation process. Coagulation is the process in which blood clotting occurs. Coagulants are added to wastewater treatment chemicals for removing or reducing particulate matter and dissolved solids, thus making the sludge more easily disposed of by sewage plants or toilets.
There are two types of coagulant used in wastewater treatment namely polyelectrolytes and synthetic colloids (CCS).
