Wireless uroflowmetry is a technique where the signals are transmitted from one place to another without any wire. It uses radiofrequency (RF) waves or infrared radiation for communication. The RF signal is used by the transmitter and receiver device which may be placed on either side of patient’s body. This technology helps in getting more accurate results as compared to traditional methods, thus increasing its adoption rate over the forecast period.
Wired:
Wired uroflowmetry is a procedure where a catheter is inserted into the bladder and urine flow rate can be measured. A sensor attached to the end of the catheter measures the flow rate which in turn gives an accurate reading of bladder capacity. This method provides more accurate results as compared to wireless methods because there are no other factors influencing measurement such as muscle tension, pelvic floor relaxation, and other external factors that affect measurement through wireless methods.
