Market Overview:
The global disperse textile fiber dyes market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.5% during the forecast period from 2018 to 2030. The market is segmented on the basis of type, application and region. On the basis of type, the market is segmented into nitro dyes, amino ketone dyes, anthraquinonoid dyes, mono azo dyes and di-azo dyes. Nitro dye dominates the global disperse textile fiber dye market in terms of revenue share in 2017 and is expected to maintain its dominance throughout the forecast period. This can be attributed to their high colorfastness properties as compared to other types of disperse textile fiber dye molecules available in the market.
Product Definition:
A disperse dye is a synthetic organic compound used for dyeing textile fabrics. They are water soluble, but insoluble in natural fats and oils. This allows them to be applied as an aqueous solution to the fabric, where they penetrate into the fiber interior and bind with the fibers' natural melanin pigments. The term "disperse" refers to their small particle size (2-60 micrometers) which results in even color distribution when deposited on fabric surfaces. Disperse dyes are usually applied as an aqueous solution at concentrations of 0.1-5% by weight.
Nitro Dyes:
Nitro dyes are synthetic organic dyes, which are produced by nitrating cellulose with the help of aniline and sulfuric acid. Nitro dyes have high affinity towards cotton fiber than other textile fibers. Cotton being a major raw material is the largest consumer of these products followed by silk and woolen fabrics.
Amino Ketone Dyes:
Amino ketone dyes are synthetic organic compounds that are used as a mordant to bind the colorants in fibers. The product is manufactured by the reaction of amine-based materials such as dimethylamino hydroxypropane and diethylamino hydroxypropane with aniline.
Application Insights:
Polyester fibers emerged as the largest application segment and accounted for over 55.0% of the global market in terms of revenue in 2017. The product is extensively used to produce high-quality yarns that are subsequently employed in various end-use industries such as apparel, home textiles, etc. Disperse dyes are also used to color polyester fibers during their production by mixing them with other pigments or adding a few drops of liquid dye solution directly into the polymer melt.
The cotton textile industry is one of the major economies driving growth across all regions where this textile is produced and consumed including North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Europe thus accounting for a significant share within regional markets on account of its growing demand from various sectors such as fashion & clothing retailing, medical & hygiene products manufacturing among others.
Regional Analysis:
Asia Pacific dominated the global market in 2017 and is expected to continue its dominance over the forecast period. The growth of this region can be attributed to increasing demand for synthetic disperse dyes from key application industries such as apparel, home furnishing, automotive and others. Increasing population in Asia Pacific has led to an increase in demand for consumer products such as clothing, footwear and others which will drive industry growth over the next eight years.
The textile & apparel industry is one of the most important sectors contributing towards economic development across Asia Pacific countries including China, India, Bangladesh and Pakistan among other developing nations across Sub-Saharan Africa region are also witnessing a surge in investments from foreign manufacturers owing to growing domestic consumption coupled with low production costs compared to developed regions. This trend is anticipated would propel product demand over the coming years thus driving regional market growth during forecast period.
Growth Factors:
- Increasing demand from textile and apparel industry: The global textile and apparel industry is growing at a rapid pace. This is expected to drive the demand for disperse textile fiber dyes in the coming years.
- Rising awareness about environmental friendly products: There is a growing awareness among consumers about the harmful effects of synthetic dyes on the environment. This is expected to boost the demand for disperse textile fiber dyes in the coming years.
- Technological advancements: The manufacturers of disperse textile fiber dyes are constantly investing in R&D to develop new and innovative products that can meet the needs of consumers. This is likely to boost growth prospects of this market in the near future.
