Cellulose acetate is used in various applications such as cigarette filters, cigarette filter papers, tea/coffee bags and photographic films. It has been estimated that approximately 1 ton of cellulose acetate is required to produce 1 ton of cigarettes.
Cellulose Acetate Propionate:
Cellulose Acetate Propionate (CAP) is a cellulose ester and it is manufactured by the reaction of propionic acid and acetic anhydride. Cellulose acetate propionate has high demand in textile industry as a wetting agent, sizing agent, anti-sticking agent, anti-blocking agents and bonding agents. It also finds application in paper making as well as coating & printing Inks.
