Mutual Inductance Measuring Current (MIMC) is a current sensing transformer used for measuring the mutual inductance of an electrical circuit. It consists of two coils, one of which is normally connected to a voltage source and the other attached to a load device. The primary coil generates an electromagnetic field around it, this field induces a current in the secondary coil due to self-induction effect.
Protective Current Transformer:
Protective current transformer is a device that monitors the total amperage of the circuit and trips when the current sense transformer detects an overload. It protects against damage to equipment caused by overloading or short circuits.
The protective current transformer is used in applications where it's important to monitor the amperage as well as voltage of a particular circuit, but not all devices are equipped with this feature.
