It can be prepared by direct reaction between bromine.

Purity 98% is a high purity form of 2-Methyl-5-Bromopyridine. It is used as an intermediate in the production of pharmaceuticals and other chemical products. Purity 98% has no major use except as an intermediate for manufacturing various chemicals such as brominated olefins, thio compounds, etc.
