Cyclohexane oxidation is a chemical reaction that involves the oxidation of cyclohexane to produce 1,4 butanedicarboxylic acid (BDPA) and water. BDPA is used in the production of polyurethanes, which are extensively used as foams and coatings in various end-use industries such as construction, automotive ancillaries and transportation.


Cyclohexene Oxidation:


Cyclohexene is an intermediate product in the production of 1 4 butanedicarboxylic acid (BDCA). BDCA is used for manufacturing polyurethane foams. The demand for cyclohexene has been increasing on account of its usage in producingBDCA, which can be further converted to desired polyurethane products.


Application Insights:


Polyurethanes (PU) application segment led the global 1,4 Butanedicarboxylic acid market in 2017. The product is used to produce high-performance polymers with excellent heat resistance and water resistance. These properties make them suitable for a wide range of end-use industries including construction and automotive PU coatings are produced by reacting 1,4 butanedicarboxylate with diisocyanates or phthalate esters.
