Product Definition:
The automobile overhead camshaft is a camshaft located in the engine block above the cylinders. It operates the valves directly, rather than through a rocker arm. This improves performance and fuel economy, as well as reducing noise and emissions.

Single-Cylinder, Horizontal Camshaft is also known as SOHC. It uses one camshaft for both the cylinder heads and therefore there are no two separate valves for each cylinder. DOHC:
