Product Definition:
A diaphragm compressor is a type of air compressor that uses a reciprocating piston to compress air. The air is compressed in the chamber on one side of the piston and then released into the chamber on the other side. This causes the diaphragm to move up and down, which in turn drives the crankshaft.
Single Stage:
Single-stage diaphragm compressors are used in various applications such as air compressor, gas compressor, and vacuum pump. It is a simple device with only one moving part namely the diaphragm which is responsible for compressing the incoming flow of fluid. The single stage diaphragm has no valves or switches attached to it; it operates by transferring its momentum from one cycle to another without any intermediate storage or accumulation of pressure.
Two Stage:
The two-stage diaphragm compressor is a type of reciprocating compressor which consists of first stage and second stage connected by valves. The flow of gas takes place through valve which controls the flow. In simple words, it can be said that two-stage diaphragm compressor is like a bicycle pump where first stage contains main chamber and second stage contains suction cup for pumping air.
Application Insights:
Petrochemical was the dominant application segment in 2017 and accounted for a revenue share of more than 40%. Rising demand for diaphragms in various petrochemical processes, such as hydrocracking, catalytic reforming, and desulphurization is expected to drive the market over the forecast period. In addition, growing demand from refineries for maintaining equipment efficiency by reducing contamination levels across multiple units is anticipated to further propel industry growth.
