The transfer case is a mechanical device located between the transmission and the drive wheels of vehicles. It's main function is to shift gears and change speed by converting the engine power into torque via clutch packs or epicyclic gearing. In automobiles, it’s used for changing gear ratio in manual transmission vehicles or automatic transmissions with two or more forward speeds.


Fluid Coupling:


Fluid coupling is a mechanical device that connects transmission components to each other and to the engine. It helps in transferring torque from the engine to the input shaft of the transmission without any interruption due to gear changes. The main function of fluid coupling is to resist high forces, which are generated when vehicle is in motion and maintain its position as well as shape.


Application Insights:


The vehicles used in the driveline control system application are primarily compact cars, mid-size cars, SUVs, luxury cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs). The demand for these systems and devices is highest in the compact car segment owing to its higher number of gears. As a result, it requires a greater number of transmission components.
