A drug-eluting stent is a medical device that is inserted into an artery to prop open the vessel and improve blood flow. The stent contains a drug that is released over time to help keep the artery open. ZES-BP:
ZES-BP, also known as Zinc Finger Nuclease Biosensor, is a novel diagnostic and monitoring tool for blood vessels. It is an innovative biosensor technology that allows real-time assessment of endothelial damage in the vascular system. The technology has been used to develop Drug Eluting Stents (DES) which are currently under clinical investigation.
EES:
The Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) is a type of memory which can be programmed and read like a regular chip. It is used in various medical devices such as drug eluting stents, implantable pulse generators, insulin pumps etc. The most important application of EES is that it allows the user or physician to customize the device for different patient’s needs by storing their personal data along with medical history in it.
