Lindane was used extensively for treating scabies but has been banned due to its carcinogenic properties; BB was used extensively for treating head lice but has been banned due to its carcinogenic properties; IVM was used extensively for treating roundworms but has been banned due to its carcinogenic properties; deltamethrin accounted for a major share owing to its wide usage as an insecticide against ticks that transmit diseases such as Lyme disease or Rocky Mountain spotted fever respectively. On the basis of application, it is classified into dogs & cats products (D&C), cattle products (C&P), pigs products (P&P), sheep & goats products (S&G) poultry products(P&O) and others(A). D&C accounted for a major share owing mainly because they are more susceptible than other animals like cattle or pigs which are less susceptible because they have thicker skin layers than dogs & cats do which makes them more resistant towards parasites like fleas or ticks respectively whereas P&O account only 1% because there are no ectoparaticides available specifically designed for poultry applications whereas A accounts only 2%. On the basis of region it includes North America(NA), Latin America(LA) Europe(EU) Asia Pacific(APAC) Middle East & Africa(MEA). NA accounts only 18% because there are no ectoparaticdes available specifically designed for North American applications whereas APAC accounts only 27% because China alone accounts over 50% followed by India with over 10%.
