Product Definition:
Ethylene releasing compounds are chemicals that release ethylene gas. Ethylene is a plant hormone that helps regulate plant growth and ripening. It is used commercially to ripen bananas, tomatoes, and other fruits.
ACC:
ACC is an aldehyde, which is also known as acetaldehyde.
2-Propylheptaldehyde ( ACC ) can be produced by several methods. The most common and simple method used to produce 2-propylheptaldehyde is by reacting heptane with propylene in the presence of oxygen.
Ethephon:
Ethephon is a colorless, water-soluble, organic compound. It has a fruity odor and is soluble in alcohol and ether. Ethephon was first synthesized by accident by G.M. Betts in 1842 while attempting to manufacture an antiseptic for cholera patients; instead it produced the first synthetic dye called ethene blue which was later named after the substance itself (Betts dyes).
