A flanged check valve is a type of valve that uses a flap or disc to prevent the flow of fluid in one direction. The flap is held in place by a pressure differential on either side of the valve, and opens when the pressure differential is released. Flanged Swing Check Valves:


Flanged swing check valves are used in process industries for the purpose of controlling and monitoring flow. It is a closed type of valve which has two separate chambers connected by a flexible diaphragm or membrane. One chamber contains liquid, while the other is empty. As pressure is applied to the diaphragm, it swings open, allowing fluid to pass through until pressure is released; at that point it swings shut again resisting the flow towards its own chamber.

Flanged ball check valves are used in the process of oil and gas transmission where a small orifice at one end is closed by a plug while the other end is connected to an open tube. The pressure inside the tube exerts a force on the plug which may be measured by means of an external gauge.
