A flanged resistance thermometer is a type of device used to measure temperature. 2 wire, also known as bipolar thermometer is a type of resistance thermometer. It has two wires; one for positive temperature measurement and other for negative temperature measurement. The 3-wire flanged type has two wires (red & black) coming out from the probe body, while third wire (yellow) is connected to an internal connection inside the sensor housing.
