Fluosilicic Acid Concentiaton 30%-40%:


It is a chemical compound of silica and hydrogen fluoride. It has 30%-40% concentration, which is used in water treatment process. Fluosilicic acid can be easily prepared by the reaction between silica and hydrogen fluoride in the presence of calcium hypochlorite or other suitable catalyst at about 120°C to 130°C temperature for 2-3 hours.


Application Insights:


The water teatment application segment led the market and accounted for more than a 38% share of the global revenue in 2017. The product is used as an acid scavenger in water treatment plants to remove hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, and organic compounds from industrial waste effluents. It is also used to prevent corrosion of metals and steel by forming a protective film on the surface of ferrous parts.


Industrial use was another key application segment where fluosilicic acid witnessed significant demand owing to its increasing applications as an intermediate chemical in various industries including paper & pulp, petroleum refining, pharmaceuticals & cosmetics among others.
