Three-cylinder pump is a mechanical device used to move fluid. It consists of three interlocking cylinders, which are mounted on a common shaft. The movement of one cylinder causes the other two to reciprocate in order to transmit the motion through the fluid. Three-cylinder pumps are widely used in oil & gas extraction and fracturing units as they offer high flow rates with less power input requirements.
Five-cylinder Pump:
The five-cylinder pump is used to transfer fluids in the fracturing unit. It has a capacity of handling fluids up to 12,000 gallons per hour and it is used for pushing fluid at high pressure in the fractures. The main function of this equipment is to keep the fracture flow open during its transportation and drilling operation.
This system consists of five cylinders connected by hoses which are attached to a source of pressurized fluid ( Usually nitrogen or carbon dioxide).
