1-Decene is a hydrocarbon with the formula C10H22. It is a colorless liquid that is insoluble in water but soluble in common organic solvents. It has a strong, characteristic odor and is used as an industrial solvent and as a starting material for the manufacture of other chemicals.


Oligomerization Method:


The oligomerization method is used to obtain high molecular weight polymers. It's a process of creating high-molecular-weight polymers by adding monomers in the presence of crosslinking agents. Oligomerization is an important step in the production of specialty chemicals such as 1,4 decanediol (1D), which is a key building block for many specialty chemicals such as nylon 6,6 and super absorbent polymers (SAP).


Cracking Method:


Cracking method is a chemical process used to convert heavy crude oil into lighter ones. In this process, heat is applied with the help of catalytic cracking unit which causes the reaction between catalyst and feedstock which in turn produces lighter products such as 1-Decene, 2-Decene, 3-decane and 4-decane among others.
