Industrial grade is used in the production of 2-chloroethanol. It is a colorless liquid with a mild pleasant odor. The product has applications as an intermediate, reagent, and feedstock for manufacturing chemicals and pharmaceuticals.


Application Insights:


Rubber was the largest application segment and accounted for over 50% of global 2-chloroethanol market volume in 2017. The product is widely used to produce high-performance polymers (HPP) that are further utilized in tires, which drive the automotive industry globally. HPP is a type of polymer that has good resistance towards heat, chemicals and UV light thus increasing its durability as compared to other synthetic rubber products.
