Hot roll, also known as carburizing or carbonitriding is a method of converting steel that has been processed at normal room temperature into one that has been heated to a very high temperature (about 1650°C) in the presence of elevated carbon dioxide. The process gives the metal an internal structure like that of low-alloy steel and improves its mechanical properties such as hardness, strength and toughness.
Cold Roll:
Cold roll is a cold-working process used to produce steel of higher quality and strength. It removes internal stresses by deforming the metal through a series of rolling processes at low temperatures. The end product has better surface finish, high yield strength, and superior corrosion resistance as compared to hot rolled products.
