Commercial steel brakes are used in aircraft to halt or slowdown a moving object. They are made of cast iron and have the ability to withstand high temperatures. The material is cast into brake shoes, which have an outer diameter of about 3/8 inch and an inner diameter of about 1/2 inch. These shoes are pressed together with a metal band around them, thus making one side heavier than the other so that they can be attracted by a magnetic strip on the car body.


Military Steel Brakes:


Military steel brakes are used in aircraft to act as a backup to the cast iron brake drums. The military-grade steel is utilized for manufacturing these products due to its properties such as high strength, corrosion resistance, and ductility. These products also have low weight which results in lesser fuel consumption and better braking power during take-off and landing.
