High purity type alumina ceramics are a special class of alumina with very low content of iron, aluminum and magnesium. The product is manufactured by the fusion at high temperature (1300-1400 degree Celsius) of silica-alumina compound. It has found its major application in the production of ceramic bodies for electronic products such as microwave ovens and tiles because it can withstand high temperatures.
Normal Type Alumina Ceramics:
Normal type alumina ceramics are materials having composition of Al2O3-SiO2-GeO2. They have low electrical conductivity and high thermal stability. These properties make them suitable for use in applications requiring high temperature resistance such as automotive parts, industrial furnaces, kilns and firebricks among others.
