Fine Alumina Trihydrate, or FATH, is a hydrated alumina with an approximate composition of 3Al2O3-1H2O. It occurs in nature as the mineral species Halite and it has been known since ancient times. Fine alumina trihydrate is a white crystalline solid that freely soluble in water (Latin name: halitosum), but very insoluble in organic solvents.
