Product Definition:


An antidegradant is a chemical added to another chemical to stop or slow down the degradation of that chemical. Antidegradants are used in many different applications, including food preservation, paint and plastics manufacturing, and textile production.


Staining Antioxidants:


Staining antioxidants are used to prevent or slow down the oxidation of other antioxidants in a product. They can be natural or synthetic and are added during various stages of the processing. Staining agents enhance the appearance and provide a better base for marketing products such as vitamins, minerals, herbs & supplements, specialty ingredients and food items.


Non-staining Antioxidants:


Non-staining antioxidants are the products that do not alter the color of a material when applied. Some common examples of non-staining antioxidants include BHT, TBHQ, and NBTQ. Antioxidants are used in degradant to prevent them from reaching degradation stage and further oxidizing or decomposing into harmful components.


Application Insights:

Natural rubber is a hygroscopic polymer which attracts water molecules from the surrounding environment through van der Waals forces, resulting in rapid degradation of tires when exposed to oxygen and sunlight.
