Product Definition:
Apoptosis is the process of programmed cell death that occurs in multicellular organisms. It is regulated by genes and proteins that are responsible for apoptosis, such as caspases. First Generation Indirect Apoptogens:
Indirect Apoptogens are chemicals that when added to the cell culture medium, bind to death receptors on the cell surface and trigger an apoptotic response in a target cell. The most commonly used indirect apoptogen is Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitor. PARP inhibitors work by inhibiting the activity of PARG, which is an enzyme involved in DNA repair and degradation of chromatin during S phase.
