Resistance furnace transformer is used in the smelting of metals. It's primary function is to step up or step down the voltage before sending it to the power supply. The resistance value of a furnace transformer depends on two factors, namely type and length of circuit.

Electric Arc Furnace Transformer:


An electric arc furnace transformer is a device, which is used to step up or step down the voltage before transmitting it to the next stage. It has two main parts; primary and secondary windings. The secondary part consists of several turns of insulated wire, which are connected in series with a protective insulation between each turn.


The primary part consists of an armature wound around an iron core that provides electrical energy to heat the melting pool at high temperature through conduction.
