Non-invasive BP monitors are those devices that measure the arterial pressure without making any incisions. The most common non-invasive BP monitors include upper arm, hand held or wrist, and finger (brachial). Invasive:
Invasive methods are used to measure the arterial pressure. These methods include, insertion of a catheter into the artery and taking blood samples from it. The other method is called non-invasive method in which a cuff is placed on the arm and blood pressure readings are taken. This device uses an electromagnetic technique for measuring systolic and diastolic pressures with the help of sound waves generated by heartbeats.
