Austenitic stainless steel is a type of steel that has been designed to resist rust and corrosion. It contains chromium and nickel in its alloy, which helps to protect it from the elements. Austenitic stainless steel plate is a flat piece of metal that has been coated with this alloy. Grade 301:


Grade 301 is a type of austenitic stainless steel, which has carbon content below the required amount for ferritic stainless. Grade301 has about 15% less carbon than standard ferritic and martensitic types. It also contains about 1% more nickel and 0.5% more iron than standard ferritic types making it stronger in mechanical properties such as strength, stiffness, yield stress etc., but weaker in corrosion resistance compared to ferritic type.


Grade 302:


Grade 302 is a type of stainless steel with carbon content below 22%. It has less chromium than other types and is used for food contact applications. The grade finds application in cutlery, cookware, household appliances, laboratory equipment and chemical processing equipment among others.
