Activated Carbon:


Activated carbon is also known as activated charcoal. It is a highly porous, adsorptive material with large surface area and high chemical & physical properties. The pore structure of the product allows it to absorb contaminants quickly. The pores of the product are filled with positively charged ions (cations) and negatively charged ions (anions).


The anions attract contaminants while the cations capture pollutants by their negative charges attracting electrons in the process.
