HVPS are also used in hybrid electric vehicles for the distribution of power from the main battery to all accessories batteries through an internal bus.

The configurable vehicle power distribution system (CVPDS) is a new term in the automotive industry which refers to an advanced electronic device or group of devices used to regulate and monitor the voltage supplied by battery packs. It helps in optimizing energy usage, enhancing driving experience and increasing battery life. CVPDS works on three basic principles namely load balancing, switching control and energy management.
