Product Definition:


A barometric condenser is a type of refrigeration system that uses a compressor to circulate vaporized refrigerant. The vaporized refrigerant passes through the coils of the condenser, which are located outside the building. The hot coils cause the liquid refrigerant to change back into a gas, which then enters the compressor and starts the cycle over again.


Countercurrent Spray:


Countercurrent spray is a technique of liquid cooling, which involves the flow of two liquids in sequence. The first liquid to be sprayed is known as the upstream or feed-stream liquid and it flows from the spray gun through a series of tubes to reach downhole equipment. The second liquid that travels downstream or through this tube is referred to as the coolant or counterstream fluid and its function is to provide heat removal for efficient working of equipment.


Parallel Spray:


Parallel spray is a type of atomization where the liquid is sprayed in a parallel manner. It helps in improving the efficiency of condensers by reducing evaporative loss and increasing the vapor to air ratio. The product also increases the surface area, which results into more rapid evaporation rate and thus reduces cooling time.


The most commonly used material for making parallel sprays are hydrocarbons such as alcohols, glycol ethers, acetone etc.


Application Insights:


The energy and power application segment accounted for the largest revenue share in 2016. The product is widely used in air separation plants, natural gas compression plants, coal-fired power plants and other industrial applications where clean air is required.
