Product Definition:
A biodegradable flocculant is a chemical used to aggregate small particles into larger clumps, which can then be more easily removed from water or wastewater. Chitosan based, also known as chitin or chitOSAN, is a natural polymer and an amino polysaccharide. It is obtained from the shells of crab, lobster and shrimp. The product has high surface area which makes it highly suitable for use in water treatment applications such as removal of hardness (calcium & magnesium), filtration systems & reverse osmosis systems owing to its large molecular weight range (MW 200-800).
PAM Based:
Polyacrylamide, also known as PAM, is a non-ionic polymer with high viscosity and molecular weight. It is soluble in water and ethanol. The product finds application in various industries including food & beverages, pharmaceuticals, chemicals & petrochemicals and wastewater treatment among others. Increasing demand for the product from these end-use industries has been driving market growth over the past few years.

The product is widely used as a flocculating, coagulating, and sedimentation agent in municipal wastewater treatment plants.
