The Johnsen-Rahbek (JR) type electrostatic chuck is a device used in the manufacturing of semiconductor devices. It’s basically an assembly of two metal plates, which are separated by a dielectric medium. As electric charges pass through the dielectric medium, they are collected on one side of the plate while no charges reach the other side due to complete absence of fields on that side.
