Product Definition:
A blast furnace is a large, steel-lined oven where iron ore is melted and converted into steel. The blast furnace is important because it produces the pig iron that is the main ingredient in making steel.
Cold Blast Blowers:
The blast furnace is a device used to melt pig iron or metal alloys in the presence of high temperature and pressure. The molten metal is forced into a long, narrow channel called as the ladle by means of compressed air or steam. In order to increase efficiency, electric motors are installed at both ends of the ladle in different positions; one for compressing air and other for discharging the compressed air/steam through pipes into tundishes where hot metals are placed.
Hot Blast Ovens:
Hot blast ovens are used in the production of steel. It is a type of electric oven which uses high temperature and pressure for processing the raw materials such as iron ore, coal, scrap etc. to produce steel. The process is known as de-carbonization or decarburization and it reduces impurities present in the raw material such as sulfur and scale during its preparation for steel manufacturing process.
Application Insights:
