Boat pumps are devices used to move liquids, typically water, in a boat. There are many different types of boat pumps, but all serve the same basic function. Some pumps draw water in from a source such as a lake or river and push it out through the exhaust pipe or into another container on the boat. Other pumps use a motor to suck water in from one area and force it out through another area at high pressure. Boat pumps are important for moving liquids around boats, which helps keep them clean and functioning properly.


Positive Displacement Pump:


Positive displacement pump is a mechanical device used to move liquids. It consists of two main parts, the suction valve and the discharge valve which are connected by a pipe. To operate it, firstly air is introduced into the cavity between these two valves through an orifice plate. The air acts as a cushion for pumping action and helps in maintaining constant pressure throughout its stroke. This type of pump has no physical connection with water; it works on atmospheric pressure only i.e.


Roto-Dynamic Pump:


Roto-Dynamic pumps are self-priming positive displacement pumps that use a rotary pump rotor to create dynamic pressure. The pump is driven by the flow of a liquid and can therefore be used for moving liquids in both directions i.e., from high to low pressure and from low to high pressure.
