Product Definition:


Brake friction is the force that resists the motion of a brake pad against a spinning rotor. Brake friction is important because it helps to stop a vehicle.


Brake Disc:


Brake disc is a friction material, which is used in brake pads to stop or slow down the vehicle. The working principle of the brake disc can be simplified as follows: As soon as one or more vehicles apply pressure on the brakes, a certain portion of that applied force travels through the rotor and causes friction between that portion and the pad. This produces heat, which eventually reduces or eliminates if not enough force is being applied.


Drum Brake:


The drum brake is a type of hydraulic braking system that uses a heavy-duty wheel to apply the brakes. The main advantage of using this system is that it can be used on any road surface, making it an ideal choice for public transportation vehicles such as buses and trams.


In addition, the low maintenance cost associated with these systems makes them suitable for use in electric vehicles as well.


Application Insights:


The passenger car segment held the largest share of over 60.0% in 2017. The demand for high-performance friction products is growing in this application segment, owing to the increasing production of sports cars and luxury vehicles across various regions, including China, Japan and India.
