Wire-guided localization (WGL) is a new breast lesion localization technology. It uses wires or needles to guide surgical instruments to the target site of the tumor. The technique was first used in human beings by surgeons from the University of Toronto and Hospital for Sick Children in Canada, in December 2006. Since then, it has been used extensively around the world with great success rates as compared to other techniques like needle-based systems and radioisotope localization systems.


Magnetic Tracers:

These tracers can be injected into the patient's body and then they will follow the magnetic field lines to locate tumors, blood vessels, and other tissues.
