Oxidative dehydrogenation is a chemical reaction that involves the transfer of hydrogen from one species to another. In this process, an oxidizing agent such as air or oxygen is used as a catalyst. The most common example of this type of reaction would be the oxidation of butadiene to produce acrylonitrile and then further converted into acrylic acid (AA) via methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) and ethylene oxide.
