Calcium Cyanide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Ca(CN)2. It is a colorless, crystalline solid that is soluble in water. It is used mainly in mining and other industrial processes.
Solid Flake Calcium Cyanide:
Solid flake calcium cyanide is a form of solid calcium cyanide. It consists of fine white particles, which are free from any foreign substance and are entirely soluble in water. Solid flake calcium cyanide has the same chemical properties as solid limestone (calcium carbonate), which is widely used as a raw material for manufacturing cement and also by itself as an ingredient in concrete products such as bricks, blocks, etc.
Powder Calcium Cyanide:
Powder calcium cyanide is a compound of Ca2+ and CN. It has high thermal stability and can be used in reactions at higher temperatures than the melting point of calcium cyanide (which is around 130oC). The product has applications as an additive for plastics, rubber, paints & coatings, adhesives & sealants and printing inks.
The global market for powder calcium cyanide was estimated to be worth USD 8 million in 2016.
