3N or triple N is a term used in the sulfuric acid industry to define the concentration of sulfuric acid. It is represented by the symbol 3 (or sometimes N) and usually written as 3N. Sulfuric acid can be produced in two different ways, one involves using oleum process and other uses a mixture of hydrogen sulfide & oxygen for producing elemental sulfur which has three molecules of nitrogen attached to it.
