Vertical scrubbers/counter-flow is a type of gas treatment technology used to remove dissolved solids and other contaminants from water. In this process, the feed water is vertical up flow through the top of the vessel where it is exposed to high pressure and temperature conditions which are expected to help in removing impurities. The treated water then flows down through the bottom of the vessel where it is cooled and sent out into a pipeline for further use.
Horizontal Scrubbers/ Cross-flow:
Horizontal scrubbers/ cross-flow are used in caustic scrubber market for removing solid particles from gas streams. The horizontal scrubbers consist of a series of rotating discs or plates, which create a high velocity flow of air across the top part of the liquid stream. The high velocity air flows overtop the solid particles and carries them to one side, while liquid is drained off on another side through drainage holes.
