Titanium Carbide(TiC):


Titanium carbide is a chemical compound of titanium and carbon. It has properties similar to that of diamond, graphite, and charcoal. The material is produced in the laboratory by high pressure (12000 psi) carbonation of liquid hydrocarbons such as ethane, propane, and butanes. Commercially it is available as a colorless solid with an odor like petroleum gas or paint thinner; however its toxic nature prevents its use in residential areas or schools etc.
