Product Definition:
Chemical Seed Treatment is the application of a pesticide or other agricultural chemical to the seed of a crop plant. The purpose of Chemical Seed Treatment is to protect the seed from pests and diseases, promote germination, and increase crop yield.
Insecticides:
Insecticides are chemicals used to kill or inhibit the growth of insects. They can be natural or synthetic in nature and are applied to crops as a preventive measure against insect damage. Insecticides can be classified on the basis of their target pests into three categories namely, contact, non-contact and systemic insecticides. Contact insecticide is usually vaporized and applied directly on to the pest; it gets inside its body by direct contact or through feeding sites.
Fungicides:
Fungicides are chemicals used to kill fungi. Fungi are responsible for crop diseases and can hamper the growth of a plant if not controlled. Various types of fungicides available in the market differ with respect to their toxicity, mode of action, application areas and spectrum of action. Some major fungicides include Noxafil, Mancozeb, Vamidone, Chlorothalonil and Triforine among others.
