Linear output is a method to measure the current flow in a straight line. It can be used with any type of sensor, but it is most commonly used with magneto-resistive elements and Hall Effect Current Sensor (HCS). The advantage of using linear output over ammeter or voltmeter is that the former does not require additional current measurement devices along the line.


Threshold Output:


Threshold output is the value which indicates the current threshold for opening of a magnetic field. It's used in closed-loop Hall Effect Current Sensor (HCHES) to detect current flow through a semiconductor channel. The sensor consists of an insulated gate, source and drain electrodes, and a barrier metal layer between them. As electric charges pass through this barrier metal layer an applied magnetic field is generated across its surface which varies as per the passing charge currents.
