Condensation rotors are used in the recovery of energy during condensation processes. The wheel consists of a series of concentric metal or plastic drums, which are filled with air and connected by pipes to an air compressor. As the wheel rotates, the air is compressed at high speed and temperature causing vaporization inside the wheel. This vaporized liquid returns to its liquid state on contact with cool surroundings thus saving energy.
Hygroscopic Rotors:
Hygroscopic rotors are used in commercial energy recovery wheel (CERW) market to absorb heat from the wheel and convert it into electricity. The process is done by a series of vanes that are spun by the electric motor, which causes the liquid crystal to change its orientation, thereby creating an electrical current.
