Product Definition:
A common-rail injection engine is a fuel injection engine that uses a single, common fuel rail to deliver fuel to all cylinders. The purpose of the common-rail system is to maintain more consistent pressure and better atomization of the injected fuel. This results in improved combustion and reduced emissions.
SDI:
Single cylinder, Multiple Cylinder, Flat or V-shaped combustion is known as SDI (Sequential dual injection) combustion technology. It was developed by General Motors in the early eighties and patented in the U.S. & Europe in 1988 and 1989 respectively.
TDI:
TDI (Time-Dependent Injection) is an electronic fuel injection system that controls the amount of fuel entering an engine. It works on the basis of time delay mechanism. The longer the period, more will be injected into the combustion chamber and at a constant rate too.
The longer TDI period provides more time for vaporization of gasoline which results in increased efficiency as well as power output from engines with common rail systems.
